Holiday spirit

December 5, 2009 - It may not be the North Pole but on Saturday downtown LaGrange transformed into a magical winter wonderland complete with ice sculptures, pony rides and a canopy of holiday lights. The 18th Annual LaGrange Christmas Walk drew attendance from hundreds of local residents as families bundled up to stroll the streets of LaGrange and participate in holiday festivities.

"Thank you to all of our residents for shopping and dining downtown and in all of our business districts," said LaGrange Village President Elizabeth Asperger. "Thank you to our business owners and all of the employees that make this community so special."

Residents enjoyed scenic tours of downtown LaGrange while children opted for pony rides, kiddie train rides and a petting zoo. Other Christmas Walk festivities included caroling, raffles and special entertainment.

Last but not least, what's a winter wonderland without Santa? Children got the chance to pose for pictures with Old St. Nick and share their Christmas lists.

The LaGrange Christmas Walk was presented by the LaGrange Business Association and the Village of LaGrange.
