Vulcan Materials Company - McCook Quarry selects Lyons Township High School District 204 for Adopt-A-School partnership

December 1, 2009 - (By Karen Deane) Lyons Township High School District 204 has been selected by Vulcan Materials Company - McCook Quarry as the newest addition to their Adopt-A-School partnerships. The company recently presented LTTV (Lyons Township High School Television) Club students with a $3,500 grant to invest in equipment and production supplies to support the educational mission of LTTV and the TV Club's coverage of this year's varsity boys' basketball home games.

"LTTV provides students with a real-life broadcasting and production experience that is second to none," said Vulcan Materials Company Regional manager Jeff May. "We look forward to a creative partnership that will give back to the community in many ways."

More than 60 TV Club students have volunteered their time to cover the seven home varsity boys' basketball games, which will be aired live on LTTV and replayed throughout the winter on Tuesdays at 7 pm. Each game will require a crew of 8-10 students in roles ranging from producer to camera and announcers. Students produce a complete digital broadcast including play-by-play, professional graphics and live sound.
